Epsilon Alpha Chi Organization (EACO) positions of the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) was vied by two parties after 11 years of single appointments during the annual election at Blanco Hall, July 1.

“During our time we have three opposing parties running for a position in the EACO that made it more interesting because of a very good competition.  But for past eleven years, only one party have guts to run for a position in EACO and sometimes we forced them just to have officers of the organization.  Students just concentrate on their academics. I am very glad for the old TEKNO spirit has been revived through this election.”EACO adviser Engr. Nino G. Blones said in an interview.

A week of room to room campaigns were given to the two parties namely Leaders for Empowerment  and Transformations through Partnership with Tekno Youth (LET’S PARTY) of Gemar Emmanuel and Pilots in Aiming for a Rewarding, Remarkable, and Resplendent ,Tekno Year (PARRRTY Party) of Angela Katrina Cham both fifth year Architecture students spearheaded the group.

“I and my party, as well as our opponent’s group both aimed to bring change in our college.  Whoever will win among us, I am sure that Tekno will be one of the most active college in the University.  With us voices of the youth in our college, I am sure that we could attain what we want to be someday,” Let’s Party President said in his message.

With full participation of the College, a grand rally was held in the morning at the Conference Room to further know the candidates and to discuss the platforms of each party for the college.

To get the interest of the students to express their right to vote, free ice cream was given then after a ballot voting in the afternoon.

Results showed that LET’S PARTY had only occupied a seat for assistant secretary whereas others belonged to the opposing party.

“With this year's EACO officers, with our very supportive dean, faculty and staff and the departmental presidents and their members, we can all make things happen. Together, we shall make this year a rewarding, remarkable and resplendent one.” newly elected EACO President Angela Katrina Cham said.
