USA Pub eyes new applicants for 2013-2014 staff

THE OLDEST Catholic campus publication in Asia outside Metro Manila is now accepting new staff members for the academic year 2013-2014 who will continue to live up the 85-year-old excellence.

The USA Publications, the official student press corps of the University of San Agustin, will be needing 14 writers, three photojournalists, and three artists to round up the 2013-2014 list; scholarship grants are also at stake for those who have what it takes ranging from 25 to 100 percent discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees. 

Moreover, the competitive examination will cover the following: news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, grammar test, and dummy making for the aspiring writers; computer aided graphics designing, desktop publishing, and editorial cartooning for artists; and, photo essay making for photojournalists.

Pablo rips through Mindanao

REUTERS - Typhoon Pablo (Bopha), the strongest tropical storm to hit the Philippines this year, slammed into Mindanao on Tuesday, destroying homes, cutting power and forcing the cancellation of flights and ferry services, officials said.
